If you read my posts, you'll see I was specifically refering to pay differences.

Here we go, Colgan SAAB CA Vs. RJ FO starting at year 2. This of course does not include per diem, and we all know that is vaporized as a result of living your life in hotel rooms. Source: www.airlinepilotcentral.com

These are some of the CURRENT as of today - highest paid/best contract RJ operators that I personally know of. Now who exactly pays thier RJ fo's more than a Saab Ca?

Sorry for the bash.

If you're happy at Colgan, then that is all that matters. What is boils down to is finding the airline with the best fit for you. All I can say is that many 2nd year regional FOs are making more than some Colgan captains.

Heck, pay me enough to fly a kite and I'll do it.

Sorry for the disrespect.

ShyFly: Good Coolio reference.

Now I do agree that our BEECH 1900 ca's may make less than many of the RJ fo's out there, although most transition within a year of upgrade to the SAAB. You get two type ratings out of the deal, and loads of PIC time.

Home every night,
$55,000 capt pay,
No crash pad,
3 day work week,
Lots of PIC...

Keep your jet

Go Colgan......

As I sit here listening to the Slayer channel on AOL Radio and quietly laughing to myself while reading this awesome thread...

I'm really glad that I came to Colgan this past spring. To anyone thinking about coming to Colgan: DO IT. The only other airline that I've experienced is Scenic Airlines (out in Vegas) and I've gotta give them a thumbs-up too.

Turboprops rule and we all know it. The Beech is the king of the turboprops, we know that, too. Come to Colgan, show the world that you have some ball$ by flying the Beech in the Northeast, and laugh at the five year RJ FO's as they try to bash us.

Oh yeah, if you can't get a Beech slot, we have a couple of Saabs too.

"degenerates from top to bottom"????? I hope you mean not the pilots , we are all a good group of people.

Not referring to the pilots, all they guys I have had the opportunity to fly with have been great. I was more referring to the Colgans, Scheduling, and Mx.

I should have known better when I saw Chuck for the first time (interview) and his tie was crooked and shirt was half untucked.. what a representative.

And not to mention that any pilot who is flying TProps in this day and age is behind the power curve.

Is that why the regionals are hiring 250 hour guys into the RJ? I mean, you'd think with all that "fancy power curve equipment" they would want a lil' more time.. :)

I'm sure if you can train a 250 hour wonder child, a guy with a couple K in a Tprop would be a nightmare, wouldn't he.. :)
