Parked next to Trump's 72 in LGA the other day and noticed it's not US registered. Anybody know what country uses VP-XXX? Can't remember what the last 3 letters were. Must be some nice tax reasons or something.

Hard saying w/o the next letter... VP-B would be Bermuda and that would be a good bet... for tax reasons, like you said. Maybe VP-C for the Caymans... who knows. VP is for British overseas territories.

So what's the advantages of having a Bermuda registered jet?

Some good tax breaks as I understand it,
Anonymity - I don't think they make their registry info available to the public,
Security - No "N" number - we aren't always that well liked in other places,
Maybe reduced liability exposure - I don't really know,
Circumventing noise restrictions, certification issues, etc.

It works for private aircraft but not for aircraft operated for hire because of cabotage laws - that's one reason you don't see everyone doing it. I'm sure there is probably someone on here who really up on this stuff but those are the advantages as I understand them.

Yeah security, noone would ever know that the jet belonged to an American Capitalist...

I don't think it's anonymity or security. He has his name on the side in very large gold letters. The letters are appr. 15 feet tall. I guess ego overrides anonymity with The Donald.

Agreed, but then again, when does Trump ever do anything low key? He's like a friggin' circus act! I would say that most register off-shore for money reasons and anonymity/security thing is just a possible benefit.

What was the ground mishap? I was taxiing in as they taxied out the week after the wedding? Never heard a word from the rampies about it and they never shut up.

Mr. I.

I wonder how The Donald felt about that ? Actually, had him ride with us one day many years ago, in his early Marla Maples days, from CHA-ATL. He stopped by the cockpit and shot the breeze...very relaxed and pleasant.

We got to ATL and sat there 10 minutes waiting for a gate agent. Trump was cool...no sweat. My impression was that he's a pretty good guy. Would not want to be an "apprentice", however.

I was standing on the ramp at PBI when it taxied out and cut the corner short and ran his left winglet into the tail of a Jetstar. Crushed the right elavator while it went under the horizontal stab. I've never seen a Jetstar bounce so high while sitting on the ground. They had to call the tower to send him back to the ramp. I don't think any damage to the 727, but alot to the tail of the Jetstar.

It wasn't just an incident, it was a TRUMP incident, " the most extravagent, unique, influential type of incident money can buy"
