I would like to get some gouge on Tropic Air Charter out of FLL. It is a 135 operation that mainly flies to the Bahamas with C-402s and Islanders. Any information would be much appreciated.

Tropic Air is the same outfit as Air Sunshine. They made the news a couple of weeks ago with a 402 losing an engine on the way to the Bahamas, then going down into the water, 2 people drowned.
Do a search in www.sun-sentinel.com and you get plenty of info right there

MJPilot,

I tried every conceivable search on the Sun-Sentinel and came up with nothing. Any other leads would be much appreciated.

I had to click on the "archive search" that's in the very lower right corner of the home page. Typed in "Air Sunshine" and found the articles. They're from August 2003 and there are more from July. You have to scroll down a little to find them, they aren't the first ones that come up.

The last I talked to them, the wanted a lot of time, I don't remember the numbers, but like 3K hours, and a bunch of time in the Islander.

I used to live in Freeport, call them up and ask for Fran, she should be able to answer your questions.
