It seems that business is booming for charter operators across the board. Would be interested in hearing opinions: is this a normal boom in a boom-bust cycle, or are we experiencing a change that will be firmly rooted.
It would seem to me that with the airlines ticking off more and more people GA is getting a bigger piece of the pie and will probably keep a lot of the converts.
Air taxi operators will, (already have started really) bring new people into GA that couldn't afford it and/or didn't realize its convenience before. These new customers will not only grow the market numbers overall but will swell the fracs and traditional jet charters' business also as some move up into bigger equipment.
Will the business and first class customers revolt against the hub & spoke system when and where they can now that there are more alternatives? It would seem that the airlines are definitely worried about the possibility with the big push for imposing user fees on GA.
