Hey everybody, looking at taking my wife for a long weekend to either traverse city or mackinac island. Wondering if anyone had any input or recommendations for things to do, places to stay, eats, etc.
Thanks in advance,
-E

I would recommend TC over MI. MI is over rated, it's just a big tourist trap. TC has all kinds of things to do especially if you like the outdoors. I would also recommend going to the Sleeping Bear Dunes national lake shore.
The Park Place hotel is a great place to stay downtown. Or if you're a big golfer I would stay at the Grand Traverse Resort.
As far as restaurants/bars go, try anything down town, you can't go wrong. To name a few; North Peak Brewing Co, Union Street, Dillengers, Bootlegers, The loading Dock, Bubbas, Mackinaw Brewing, Killkeneys, U&I, The Loading Dock, 311...

If you like BBQ, try Red's. It's at the south-west corner of the TC mall behind the Mongolian BBQ.

Thanks for the great input...I know my wife would like to do some horseback riding if theres anything around. Are there any places to rent mopeds for a day to drive around the bay area? I think this will turn out to be a good time away since its fairly close...living in GRR. Thanks again.
