A quote from a Pilot Academy web site:

“The Airline Transport Association (ATA) projects that, by the year 2010, passenger air travel will double over the rates experienced in 1999.”

We all know that the Kid Darby “all the Pilots will retire” line is BS and it has been beat to death.

Anyone care to comment on the above stat???

Well, by the year 2010 (at least by the 4th Qtr of 2010), I'll be 55 yrs old. It would be a stretch, given the current state of the industry, and the continuing obstacles put in the path of professional pilots simply trying to do the best job they can do, both safely and professionally, that I would have the wherewithall to last that long. I'm hoping my pilot wife, who is 15 years younger than I am, will have achieved a certain level of comfort in her career, and I'll be fishing on some mountain lake or stream by then.

That's my comment on the above stat.
