I just bought a PNS bag, had a travelPro Crew 4, lasted 1 year. Broken handle, salt from ramp got into bearings of wheels, really noisey. I could have taken better care of it, lets she how much abuse the PNS can take.
I'd get a PNS. You see a lot more old PNS bags in the lounge than old Travelpro's. After 4 years of excessive abuse, I just sent my PNS bag in to get the zippers fixed. That's the only thing wrong with it. They have good product support.
I'm going on 4 years with my PNT and I've had the same experience. It has a few minor scrapes, but it easily outlasts the Travelpro (about a year is the best I could get out of one).
I haven't been overly impressed with the Travelpro products. I bought the PNT bag/duffel combo and found PNT products to be very good. Travelpros will last about a year... seems to me it is not the product for the "pro." Rather, it is better suited for the traveller who flys once every other year. Spend the extra $$ and get PNT products.
I have the prettyneatstuff bag and I generally like it. However, I have two main gripes. First, the bag is just too darn heavy. Second, the zippers (my bag has 8 of them) tend to rip off or break; This has to do with the way the bags are stored under the second jumpseat. What's the alternative? I have flown with several guys who have the bag from Costco that costs $89. This is a darned good bag and it's very light. The bonus is, it comes with a lifetime warranty -- just take it to costco for a replacement when it breaks. When my purty neat bag croaks, I'm not sending it in for the $200 overhaul, I'm getting the one at Costco.
