So I'm getting ready for my first interview. Does anyone know if pinnacle gives you a pass for the interview. I know Airnet does, but I don't know if that is typical.

Just a question. Is that your actual total time of 300 hours or is it a typo? Just curious if Pinnacle is interviewing guys with 300 hours.

If you're through Jet U they will ! :angryfire


Mins for entrance into Jet U's program are a wet commercial multi engine.

And then you do their training and log about 70 or so hours of CRJ sim time.

So if you had 190-250 hours as a wet commercial pilot, you get 70 more... so like 260-320 total time conceivable.
 
Do they teach them at jet u that it is good CRM to share the USA Today?

When are they going to learn their lesson. History WILL repeat itself again if alternate measures are not taken (i.e. hire qualified applicants to fly your airplanes). I'm sorry but 300 hours is not enough time. PERIOD. I'm just surprised that the insurance company hasn't figured it out yet. You need more than 300 hours just to rent a seneca for crying out loud.

Well, on the flip side of that, Mesa's MAPD has been producing 220-300 hour pilots that go straight into the CRJ / ERJ / Dash 8 / Beech 1900s. And MAPD has been around for how long? Since 1989 ?

So far, planes have not been crashing and killing people due to 300 hour F/Os. If that starts to happen, expect insurance and FAA changes.

I always find it interesting that ALL pilots, every one, that get a job at a regional with <1000 hours think that they are competant and belong there. All pilots, every one, that came in with 2500-3000 after flying freight and/or instructing think 1000 is too little. Why is that? Do they POSSIBLY know something you don't?

Nah, they are just jealous of your superb flying skills. After all "hate the game not the playa" right?

In a recent class at 9E, the 1 pilot that washed out (of 14 total) was a high time CFI. In many cases high time pilots do belong at a regional, but not in all cases.
