Transition Level/Altitude

I think it's just easier to remember that you have transition level when coming from a level and transition altitude when coming from an altitude
That's how I remember it. Starting from a level: TL, starting from an altitude: TA.
 
This has always been confusing to me as well. The A and the V is a good tip. To me, transition level SHOULD mean, when i'm entering the flight levels!, not when I'm leaving them. :)
