So - I've got an interview with Continental and like most places, they want copies of college transcripts. They say "Official College Transcripts" - do they need to be sealed transcripts - ie, unopened or will opened ones do?

What have you guys done?

Opened ones are fine. As long as it's an official transcript, they don't care. At least, they didn't when I got hired last year.

I had my college send a couple of sets. I opened one to make sure it was okay and then took that one and an unopened one to the interview. (That was for United back in 99) I had them send a couple so I would have them if I needed them for more interviews down the road.

UAL wanted two sets one sent to them unopened from the college. This was back in 1996

Got Hired by UAL pre 9/11. Official college transcripts usually will have a seal of some sort on them...at least mine did. They were fine. If they say do not open then I would not.

I talked to my college registrar and she mailed them directly to CAL HR (Cynthia if I remember right). That took care of any issues.

I think you guys are making this harder than it is. The registrars office puts an official "seal", or stamp on the transcript.
