So, Pinncale hires with 300 - 500 tt as long as they go through sometype of approved program. A lot of other regional have been doing this for years now nothing new.

All airlines should do as they did, hire those with ATP minimums. It weeds out those who arent cut out for this and gives them opportunity to get some real operational flying before dumping an FNG on a Captain who has enough to deal with.

Wouldn't make a dang bit of difference. All that would do is force all the CFIs to instruct for another few months until they got the extra few hundred hours and passed one more checkride. Then they'd go to the regionals, still never having flown anything bigger than a Seminole, and still without having flown a whole lot of real-world IFR (a generalization I know, but for many it would be true).

And yes, TSA has hired people below 1000/100. But you'd be much better off waiting until you got the mins for a better company than TSA.

TSA, Pinnacle, Mesa- dont be fooled by the offer to fly a jet with low time...its not worth it. Go to a company that appreciates its employees and treats them right.

How do you expect a cr@ppy company like Trans States to hire high time guys? If you had the time to go to a better airline and you had three or more working brain cells you would go somewhere else.

Well I went to airlines with an ATP and charter and corporate experience. Both of which gave me much better real experience that I use everyday as a Captain than the time I spent as an FO. I learned a lot about being in command and having it all rest on my shoulders. As an FO I flew every other leg, flirted with the FA when she was hot and loved my great schedule. Truth is..... regionals suck and I never met anyone who has made it to Captain who likes it. It is a neccessary evil. So what if pilots needed more experience before they went to airlines. People would still go to the crappy regionals if that is who was hiring. They would just go with better abilities. Domestic airline service and industry in USA is dead and there is no easy answers to bring it back to its better status. The country embraces Walmart, it is a society that shops as an activity, they buy things simply because they see it on sale even if they dont really want it or need it. We are the worlds consumers. A giant mall. Aviation has always been about convenience never about saving money. People flew because it was better to spend a few hours rather than a few days to get someplace. It was a priviledge to fly now people see it as a right because they can fork over the 129 bucks. They dont even get dressed anymore. Most look like they just rolled out of bed. So in my OPINION which is what forums are for.... better to get experience and be a better all around pilot before you are quick to join the circus. If you are young..... get a degree outside of aviation and go make some money first cause it will be a very LONG time before you make it in aviation if at all.

I would not advise anyone to come to TSA. I would like to here from you which regional airlines appreciates their employees and treats them right this day and age. Please inform us!!

What are the lower times FO's are being hired with over at TSA. Pilots who AREN'T coming out of an aviation program....

...and if hired, will you be sent to fly at Go-Jobs?

Despite the sh1tty bases and the chance we may lose some flying to a bottom feeder, life isnt too bad at ExpressJet.

I am busy working on killing the few brain cells I have left. When I'm not doing that, I work for the hindu. The only real pleasure I get in life comes from taxiing by the Go Jet pukes while they're on a ground stop to ORD. It gives me a warm, fuzzy, feeling to think about the block or better they don't get.

On a serious note, I would be very careful about coming here as a new hire right now. This company is shrinking quite rapidly and the high attrition is the only reason we haven't furloughed yet. If they suddenyl decide tomorrow to cancel all the new-hire classes (after those guys already quit their jobs) and start furloughing; it wouldn't be the first time an airline has done that.

You didn't get the memo ??? I'll explain it to you then. You see, it's o.k. to work at a scumbag operation like TSA but NOT o.k. to work at the scumbag sister operation of GJ's. Makes no sense to me but hopefully you'll have better luck figuring out their logic than I have.

They will all ask why anyone would be stupid enough to want to work at GJ's but then in the very next breath tell you what a horrible place TSA is. Makes you wonder who's more stupid. The GJ pilots or the TSA pilots ???

I here that they hire folks for TSA and when those folks show up to class on day 1 they are told that the class is cancelled, however, there is a G-O-J-E-Ts class starting that same day and that they are all welcome in that class. Pretty sleezy if you ask me.

H25b You are setting me up! I don't believe the Go Jet pilots are stupid. I think they have seen an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of an airline that more than likely will continue to grow in a segment of the market that is heating up. The TSA pilots on the other hand seem to have no clue, as they had the opportunity to have all of that flying and they turned it down. Then after doing so they want to tell everyone else not to go to Go Jet because somehow if you do your a bad person.

I originally became involved in this thread because of the issues with the jumpseat which is counterproductive to all pilots best interests. However the more I read from the zealots who post on here criticzing Go Jets just makes it impossible not to respond with some sort of sanity and rationality as they have neither.

No one of the zealots has ever been able to point out where they had an agreement with TS Holdings to fly any flying Holdings were to start. Because there never was an agreement. They then complain that it is transparent that Holdings can use the Go Jet club over their head in negotiations and that makes Go Jet pilots bad. Whenever it is pointed out to them that the same happens between TSA and mainline carriers every day or between TSA and Mesa every day. They seem to think it is different when it really is NOT different at all. By the way I think it is called competition in a free market.

I used to think that eventually they would turn their eye toward the poor union leadership they have there and try and fix the problem. Yet I still hear the zealots defending the local union leadership as the best thing that ever happened to them....Go figure. I can go on but this will be enough to fire up the stupid machine once again. So I will stop for now.

I'll go along with that.... The TSA pilot's worst enemy is their own union. Compared to them the GJ pilots barely rank.

In the previous post one might say work for a regional that treats their people right. There is no such thing this is my second regional and the bs is the same. Some company like AMR eagle do respect their pilots better I though except for the 16 year contract. When I was over there 7 years ago it was a great place except pilot moral was low.

Just wondering, what about the company is shrinking? I know the J41s are leaving but do you think that this will have a big impact, or are there other things too?

I'm not sure the company (TSA) is shrinking... New hires coming left and right, new classes of Check Airman running. Something big is in the works, and evidently an announcement sometime in April will answer some of these questions. Anyone that works at TSA should know what announcement i am speaking of. Don't go all Doom and Gloom on TSA just yet.

There are alot of signs and rumors that something big is going to happen. 35-40 new check airmen, lots of new hires, but with anything else, ill believe it when I see it. I have to say I wouldnt mind getting a few hundred below me in senority.

Theo and h25b the ground floor of *************************s started as Resort Air back in 1982. You just backstabbed everyone who has been there and built it into TSA holdings of today. Everyone else at TSA and in this industry is not stupid and did not see *************************s as this start up with massive growth potential as you miopicly see it. We see it as a threat to everyone who desires to make a good living in this industry.

So bugger off you sorry little pricks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Enjoy the circle jerk at blowjets while it last

Welcome to the sh!tty regional world. You are about to join the ranks of the rest of us who have been "sold out" by our managment teams. I think it is a shame that one of the only companies left with good pay is losing some flying, but we puppets (pilots) can't do anything about it!

So go ahead and continue the name calling game,..... it really does make things better.

10 jets of flying for a crappy TA with bad payrate and extention of a substandard CBA. Great opportunity we turned down by 75%!!

By the way, your 50/70 seat payscale didn't help with the pay our company offered.

thanks theo and h25b

thank you theo and h25b for your posts. You guys are keeping the g0jet debacle front and center.

Please continue to provide evidence of the lowlife nature of g0jet pilots and their supporters.

The above post does nothing except proves to all that you are stupid and most likley can't read... You are a SCAB and that is proven just by the nature of your speach, you most likley will fly a "jet" for free. Check this out - - - > anyone who works for less than someone else is a SCAB and a theat.... AKA G0JETS.
