Guys,

Sorry for the stupid question..
I read on CAE site that there are training courses for Part 61/91 and Part 135.

What is the difference?
Is the price for the course the same?
Does the FAA care and is it reflected somehow on your type rating?
Which choice will open more employment opportunities?

Thanks a lot

The difference is that instead of three days of training, you have 2 days of training and a checkride. I was never charged more at FSI or Simuflite.

400A sums up the difference for recurrent training with the 135 pilot receiving a checkride on the last day.

For an initial type rating, the training and the check ride are the same with the exception that a 135 ride requires recovery from an unusual attitude.

Price is the same. (prices are negotiable)
The FAA does not care. A type rating is a type rating.
As far as opening more employment opportunities- Some 135 operators look for "current" 135 pilots. This allows them, in some cases, to provide "reduced training" for a new hire.

Hope this helps!

You also need to be on someone's Pt 135 certificate to take the 135 checkride. You can't just go in and ask for it. Some operators have different Ops Specs than others.
