The best flight department is the one that exists under the radar, is not operated by a publicly owned company, provides slightly better than average pay, a reasonable schedule (the occasional pop up reminds the pax why they spend $$ on jets), as much job security as is possible in this business, safe equipment and great people to work with. FWIW.
