You can always afford big checks to the executives! That is where the money should be spent!

Name me another executive team that has done a better job at shrinking their airline and conceding market share to competitors.

Righto, Frank! AND, at the same time, they rake in millions of bucks each (unprofitable) year for senior management. (Brilliant move on Arpey's part--can't make a profit to get your bonus? Just change the metric by which bonuses are awarded. Brilliant, I say!)

How about US Airways? WN mostly smoked them out of California and Baltimore and they abandoned PIT themselves without another carrier putting the beatdown on them there. I believe they also shrunk their Vegas operations quite a bit in the recent past also. Unfortunately there are way too many examples of "shrink to profitability" out there.
