It is one you should be comfortable with as well, unless you believe the first two or so paragraphs I have written. There are many in this world that believe words can hurt. They cannot. A MAN is in control of his feelings. No one can make him FEEL anything. An intelligent person, recognizes personal attacks as what they are, an attempt to elevate your "opponents" blood pressure beyond a certain level wherein he will become upset and say or do something stupid. If this is not the case it is often meant as humour, at least that's usually how I use it. Might I suggest that it is high time for you to grow up and and quit the left leaning neo-liberal club called "sticks and stones CAN break my bones, and names will weally hurt poor widdy old me". If you do not, you won't last long in this business. Those with thin skins rarely do.

I certainly agree.

Heavy-handed moderation is what drove many of us away in droves. After a seemingly genuine change of heart on the part of the board's leaders, many of us have cautiously trickled back, and been pleased to see things more-or-less back to normal.

This fiasco changes things, and if people are again going to be banned over petty crap like this, there will be another mass exodus, I'm sure of it.

I flew for a commuter for almost 4 years. A commuter pilot is what I was and I loved every minute of it. This PC BS is getting out of hand.

Ahhhh if you don't like what general has to say you don't ban him you just ignore him. One of the hardest things of being a moderator is to seperate personal opinions from the rules of the message board. Although it's difficult you still need to keep you personal opinions to yourself when moderating.

Unfortunatly you were unable to do that and banned him for a term that YOU thought was offensive not anyone else. While I don't agree with everything the general has to say he doesn't violate the terms of the message board and Commuter is far from a derogitory term.

If you are going to moderate you have to follow the rules of the board not your own rules!

Hey- that got me laughing-- yeah, yeah, I know you guys think I'm a tight-_ssed prude. Dang, I just dispensed my award for this week's best comment or this one would have gotten it. From one who was a commuter pilot when the term was "glamourous" to an airline pilot which used to be glamourous to a moderator...nawww, that's never been glamourous.
