To go or not to go to air inc job fair

I am trying to get into one or two of the regional airlines that will be present at the job fair on the 28th.
I am considering going because the environment is pretty competitive nowadays. My times are not bad (slightly above their posted minimums, 121 time, turbine,etc... and no I am not "working" at gulfstream) I think, but no crj time like the hundreds of furloughees.
Is it really worth the 170 bucks + plane ticket or not?

they are a waist of money. Which airline are you trying to get on with? AWAC hold their own for free.

You sound like you have what it takes to get on with a regional, I am assuming you must have 1000+ hours and with turbine times. Don't waist the money. Just send your resume in. Make sure the resume is formated correctly.

P.S. I have never been to one as a pilot applicant but I have been once when I was asked by a previous airline I use to work for to help out. Seeing a pilot face to face did not really change the CP's mind on whehter he would call that pilot for an interview. By attending you are only helping Kirt Darby get richer.

I went to 2 job fairs and wound up with 4 interview offers (although 1 of them was probably due to an internal rec more than the job fair.)

It really depends on the competition. I hear some regionals hire on the spot (I can't blame them since their booths are usually empty while the lines at the SWA, JB, UPS ... booths are around the corner, out the lobby, onto the street and around the block past the second Starbucks.)

Still, I hate giving that guy money.
