XJT = Great Company. I dont believe anyone is disputing it. Seriously though, it's an RJ, same as the rest. I completely fail to believe that if you were given 170's.....you would turn them away.

I don't think we'd turn them away, but we wouldn't take them for a measly couple bucks over our 50 seat rates. I've had countless conversations with guys enroute who said they wouldn't do it unless we got some real added pay out of it. Look, maybe we're talking about two different pilot group mentalities. Someone who goes to XJT now probably chose so because he heard it's a good place to work, maybe for a CHQ pilot he'd rather be sure he sees a 170 or upgrades ASAP. I know I had a CHQ and XJT base within 20 miles of me and I chose XJT for being overall a great place to work. Getting back to my original point, I think most guys here are looking for quality, in pay, benefits etc. Guys aren't pitching tents over 70 seaters for garbage pay which benefits nobody but the company.

A junior guy maybe would dig it, but he doens't vote on these things.....

Ok two things wonder pilot. You all at XJT dont want to upgrade? It is SUCH a great place to work that you want to stay and swing someone elses gear? Thats why you got this job huh?

And why wouldnt a junior guy vote? his Alpa card is equally worthless as yours is!

asshat

For the record...when the last contract at CHq was negotiated we didnt have 70 seaters... Why give away something for something we didnt have?

And the countless conversation about how the Mesaba TA had no chance of passing, and look what happened. Bottom line, there is no way anyone can predict what would happen if such a thing played out. Hopefully it doesnt. Seeing you guys get a raise the other day put a smile on my face, it's nice to see light out there. The last guy has a good point, we didnt have any 70 seaters when we negotiated our last contract....for what its worth.
You talk of us like we are a bunch of idiots over here though. I turned down XJT after looking at the bigger picture. I wanted a quicker upgrade, at the time 1200 pilots here was a better bet than 2600 over at XJT. Turns out I was wrong, as my good friend from college can hold shortjet Capt in EWR, we started class on the same day.
I believe that your statement "pitching tents" holds very little water over here either, dont believe everything that you hear sir. I fly what was given to me. Truthfully, I wanted the 145....same avionics from my previous job. Look what I got.

At least we have a SEPARATE 70 seat and a SEPARATE 79-100 seat captain rate (E175's). Go bash Skywest, not us. They fly all their 50, 70, and 90 seaters for ONE 50 seat captain rate! That's the new problem we have to deal with. They have set that as the new standard which will be held over all of our heads in the next round of contract negotiations.

And yes, I do agree that our FO rates are shameful for the 170.
