So does anyone actually have a payscale or job posting for TSA agents or are we just guessing?

Just guessing that isn't even close. Good friend of mine is a TSA agent and her 2nd year hourly rate is $12 and change and she hates the job even more than most pilots hate theirs. Don't believe everything you hear.

Commie.....

Alright, I've given this a lot of thought. Its time for me to leave this industry. This career has turned into the equivlent of a dead end job and its not worth it for me anymore.

I know many of you do other things instead or in addition to flying. All I have done ever is fly, my whole career path has been based on it. So I'm asking for some ideas of what some of you have done. I've got a baby on the way and there is no way to support a child on FO wages at a regional, especially when you work for a company where isnt and never will be an upgrade.

Thanks!

Looks from all the hatred you have for Bush like you might have a bright career down in Venezuela or maybe Cuba. Why not go and give Hugo a little help-he sure could use it! Maybe Fidel could use some help from some like-minded, impressionable young lad.

Maybe you could write for CNN, or the API. Maybe you could work for Hitlery's campaign. There are mny bright and exciting opportunites available for Socialists of low intellect and high levels of bitterness!
-Good luck, champ!

P.S.-maybe you won't really have to go to work at all. When Hitlery is elected, I guess you could just sit around all day doing nothing except watching Jerry Springer on your new Hi-Def, and just collect all the tax money from all the other P.O.'ed people who go to work and pay those taxes.

Im amazed by the fact that people still back bush. Before 911 he was vacationing almost half of the time.

He neglected his duties and what happend. 3000 americans died in one day, then another 3000+(and counting) in the war. And with all the intelligence and war making capability in the free world, he couldent find the one guy that started the fight.

He is hammering this country into the ground and making tons of money in the process. Just like an airline CEO sinking an airline and walking away with a gigantic golden parachute while everyone else starves.

How about becoming a professional clown puncher? Bye the way hows Hill doing in the polls? How about your congress? Seems not many are happy with the way the Dems are taking things.

What was the number for that truck driving school, Truckmasters? Yeah, I might need that.

Great contrast Papps !

It will be 2009 soon and hopefully someone will come in that can drag the country up from the bottom and end the long national nightmare

Try the FAA. They're looking for new inspectors and depending on how many years in the industry you have, you might fit the bill.

My wife does government contract managing and has excellent income potential. She doesn't get to realize it with her current job, but other people can. It takes a little schooling, but something that can be done. There are three week long courses you would need, and then some real world experience with it, you'd be making bank!

Flying gets boring after a while. Sitting for long hours in a plane, hotel or terminal in a stuffy outfit gets tiring.

Some won't realize this until it happens years later.

Remember, no matter what you do, it will eventually become a job.

Change can be pretty neat.

Someone answer this for me. Theres a few guys on here who left the industry all together and say they love life so much better now, then why are you still visiting aviation forums? Is it because you have some regrets about leaving and this is the way you fill the void? I used to work construction before flying I am so happy to never have to do that job again I dont even think about it much less visit construction web pages.

Just because construction sucks doesn't mean that the airlines don't suck....

Ok Ratherbeflyen - I'll be happy to answer that one. Just because you leave the business of flying doesn't mean you leave your interest in aviation or interest in what goes on within the industry. You basically answered your own question. I left a dead end aviation job to assist my family in a business. I for one would certainly go back to aviation if I found a position that paid reasonably well and offered some chance of advancement. A year of being out certainly has changed my perspective on that. Aviation though - always liked it, always will, but I won't work for peanuts and have basically no life again.

I used to sell ball bearings at one time - I can assure you, I don't visit any ball bearing sales chat boards. I think aviation strikes a different chord in most of us than more mundane jobs.
