Here's a thought: Use the 35,000 to earn your CFI and CFII. Instruct for about 500 hours or until you get about 1200 total time. Use the remaining money to rent a twin or get your MEI and obtain about 100 ME. With those times, apply for a part 135 carrier like Airnet. Then work your way up the ladder. You'll feel better about your piloting skills and people will tend to respect the manner in which you "came up the ranks".

500 SIC turbine won't do you much good with a commercial certificate.

This man has the right idea. Spread the word, If I am sitting on the other side of your table looking to hire you and I sniff BS "timebuilding" Your GONE.
Get your cfi tickets and do it the right way. You'll learn more in the end instead of being a seatwarmer like the punks at gulfstream ect.

Amish, you seem a little hostile. Prince, I think it sounds like a scam too, thanks. Mr Wu, I did a search on both of those key words and didn't find anything about outcomes, just website of some different air carrier companies?? Thanks for the comments though. Like I said, I've never heard of this before and was just curious about it.

Not being hostile. Think about you sitting right seat in a widebody with all of your "ALLATP" experience. Most of your 250 hrs in all likelihood is dual. No real PIC experience and you want to pay 35K to be the FO on an L-1011? C'mon.... you should know better than that. If you knew of a guy who wasn't normally qualified to fly right seat in terms of what minimums should be for this position, but PAID to sit right seat in the L-1011, would you want to be onboard while flying through some hard weather down to minimums.

P.S. Amish, I'm not a kid. Thanks though.

Either am I. It's a figure of speech. I thought you would have understood what I meant. Apologies if you felt insulted.

Run Forrest!

That entire situation just screams the word "scam." I'd stay away, or at the very least do some serious research before paying out any cash.

Scam . . . do I also hear SCAB? I am so thankful that is was explained to me shortly after passing my commercial check ride that I no longer pay to fly. There are exception to that rule for training purposes, but never pay to 'build time,' especially if you are acting as a required crew member. These are they who ruin aviation's safety record, among other records.

These people should be beaten with shovels.

I am a newly certified Commercial Pilot. I got an e-mail today from a company that offers time building. I don't know how they got my name and e-mail address. They are offering 500 FO hours in a Lockheed L1010 with a type rating for $35K, and it's actual time and not just sim time. I have never heard of this. It works out to be $70/hour in a jet. Like I said I have never heard of something like this, and of course with anything that sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Does anyone have anything positive or negative to say about something like this?

Don’t use P.F.T. (Pay For Training) Work for your Hours it will take longer but you will be respected in the aviation community. I have seen a few local pilots that did P.F.T. they are not respected and looked down upon by fellow pilots! There are many ways to build hours and get paid for it. Just takes a will and/or imagination!
