hey guys,
how many hrs do you have to have before you go from private, to inst, to commercial, to multi, to CFI?? is there a set amount of hrs?

thanks!

it depends which reg you do training under, you could finish your Comm at 190hrs or 250. There is no set time for CFI, but you must have the Commercial first.

sorry mate,
that place is hard to get around in and i just thought i would post a simple question on here..

Hey Pepper!

As it pertains to Aeronauctical Experience required by the FAR's, visit the below link and they start at the Subpart B section:
http://ecfr.gpoaccess.gov/cgi/t/tex...e&tpl=/ecfrbrowse/Title14/14cfr61_main_02.tpl

If you're asking about real world, what it took other people to actually achieve it, below are the actual hours that it took me to get each one of my ratings.

Received PPL: 68 hours
Instrument: 55 hours
Multi-Engine: 9 hours
Commercial: 28 hours (minus required X/C time building)
CFII: 14 hours
MEI: 20 hours
CFI: 15 hours
