Really all they did was threaten to take the retirement if they did not get all the cuts that they wanted, then they took the retirements anyway. Anybody, even a $200k Walmart MGR. could have done this. This is not even an original idea. Same game that US AIR played. Now for the worst part, UAL MGT. payed an obscene amout of money for advise to "consultants" to give them this plan. This is kind of like if someone hired you to cut a lawn and payed you $1,000. Then you turned around and hired a lawn company to come in do the job and charged the property owner another $10,000. Sounds like a scam to me.
