The Netherlands have based SF, apache helicopters (yes, they have had them since last century) and F16's in afghanistan. All have seen extensive combat and casualties have been suffered.

We definitely have not contributed as much as the US but exactly what would you expect from a country with 16 million people. How many dead soldiers should we have before we have "pulled our weight" and start to count in your opinion?

Anyways, your appreciation for our effort and suffered casualties has been noted.[/quote]

Yes they have sent apaache's and F-16's but I read an article where they said that during there 6 month deployment they didn't have to fire a single shot in Anger! how is this possibe? I've see photo's of US A-10 F-16,F-18 and Britsh GR7/9 coming home with Bomb tally's on there nose's that look like a WW 2 Bomber.

the article went on explain how a British SOF convoy was coming under Morter and small arms fire and requested air support when the Apache's did arrive they flew what is called low passes or show of force and the Taliban or Al Qaeda then retreated to the hills. Now if I was a one of those british SAS or Royal Marines on the ground I probably would have shot at the helocopter for not engaging the enemy. Why would you want to give your enemy that has sworn to kill you the ability to disengage and live to fight another day?

I'm sure there are good leaders in the Dutch, French, German, Spanish and maybe the Italian Armed Forces but i still think there leaders and the civilians of these countries need to start pulling alittle more of there own weight and increase the Military spending. I like how the germans are spending money on P-3 MPA aircraft with no threat in sight from a russian sub. while our own Navy is drawing down this fleet.

One thing that is interesting to point out that former Warsaw pact nations Poland, Bulgaria and others seem more willing to help out in these times and these nations are alot poorer then the Western members of NATO.

Is that you John Wayne? You just lost all credibility there.

Perhaps you were former SF and are drawing on your past experience operating a convoy in a hostile area. Perhaps you were an helicopter attack pilot, and are well-versed in what the Italian's ROE were that particular mission.

or,

Perhaps you should leave the war-fighting to the professionals and keep your editorial comments to yourself.

First Off Lav Jet Driver I'm Not Attacking any of our Brave Men and Women that continue to serve and Protect this great Nation. I Only want our Military to sucseed in any conflict I want them to be the best trained and Armed that my Tax dollars can Buy!

Do I think the Euro's could do alot more "YES" you did hit a good point on ROE and Yes alot of the Euro's have alot more restrictive ROE when it come's to conducting Combat Op's in a war zone.

Look at Italy for example flying F104ASM Starfighters into 2000? most of there Tornado's, AMX don't have Link 16 or NVG capabilities or the ability to self Laser PGM's or other smart munitions. This goes on with alot of other eruo countries there just now starting to update there aircraft.

Now Polands getting some good F-16's think there Bock 50 but there not getting the M4.2+ update like our Block 50's but atleast they are buying an aircraft that is capable of fighting in the current war zones our forces are engaged in and our contributing forces and our alot poorer then France, Germany oh and the Netherlands.

Sjeezs,

I regret having responded to your post seriously in the first place, makes me look like an idiot.

It's pretty obvious by looking at your writing skills and arguments you're either very drunk or something is very wrong with you.

Have fun with the euro bashing.

It doesn't say that anywhere in your posts. You do however, suggest that you would open fire on a coalition aircraft, a move that depending on the situation, could get you and your friends very dead, very fast. If the Apache crew was in possession of really good SA, you'd live, only to be court- martialed.

I'll reiterate my original thought: you've lost all credibility here.

Read the following sentence again, it wasn't meant to insult you, it's simply some good advice:

Don't worry too much about pop. His experience (or lack thereof) speaks for itself. The only kind of advice to get from him is, what kind of disinfectant cleans the lav toilet the best, or what's hot in XBox. Other than that, he's pretty useless. Just ask his captains.
