I was working at the time the MU-2 went down. I watched as the guy landed at Hillsboro. It was such a poor landing that all the people around me noticed. Then he slammed on the brakes to make the next turn-off. He taxied to one of the FBO's, shut down just the number 1 engine to allow the two passengers to board. Then fired it back up, taxied out and took off. The number 1 engine then failed on climbout. The airplane spun a couple times then hit the ground in a flat attitude...like a pancake.

The following day, the NTSB was investigating. As they used chainsaws to tear into the aircraft, a fire sparked and the entire scene was burned!
