As a show of solidarity, I am now going to go to airliners.net and download every United Express Dash 8 photo I can find.

Actually, there was a fairly well written rebuttal posted today from a travel agent enititled "Jet or Turboprop? The Choice Belongs to You."

As well, there was a good letter to the editor written by a Dash 8 captain, entitled "In Defense of the Dash 8."

This Andy Stone character is performing his journalistic duties without flaw; creating controversy where none previously existed. No, scratch that--Andy is a person that has an excess of vitriol and is constantly looking for an outlet. Unfortunately for Andy, he reveals his vast ignorance in the process. It is a shame that 99.9% of the flying population doesn't know the difference. There's no worse combination that p.o.'d and underinformed.

If a passenger was verbally abusive to me or any of my crew members, they'd quickly find themselves out of a ride.

.

Capt Phil did a good job on that letter so hats off to him and a pint of Guinness.

don't harrass this guy by sending him your tripe to his work email. i thought he had some very valid points, and the story made me chuckle. the aspen times was a great read back in the day. this article reminds me what i'm missing. the dash 8 is a dinky little airplane, and it does suck to be a passenger and find out thats how youre getting somewhere. i bet they were flying rjs before the switch.

No from what I gather they have 4 flights a day in 146's (two in and two out) the rest are dash 8's and IMHO the only reason why it would suck to fly on a dash 8 is because of the other passengers on the flight crying and whining. He had a choice to fly either a dash 8 or a 146 (I don't see the difference I'm still geting to my dest and you are still cramped up in both) if he truly feels that way about the dash 8's he should of paid for one of the 146's and wait an hour or two at the airport for the flight, and could of used that time to write about something, and we would not have seen his ignorant complaint.
