Does anyone know how many Compass has hired to date?
I've been offered an August 8 class; want to know where my seniority will fall....very wary of nwa plans to retire 30 dc-9's after holidays...that's 300 pilots.
How many would flow back? Probably just a few...and will they actually hire soon?

Just received an offer for Aug 17th. Do you have any idea how many classes they are running in July and August? Did you ever find out what your senority will be for your Aug 8th class?

I was just informed (reliability of source info unknown) that, not only do you have to wait to flow through to NWA (for 30 months, I belive?), that the wait time is AFTER you become a captain. So, if you start as an FO, it's a long time.

That info is incorrect...It's 30months total and being a CA. You could be a CA for 1 month of that 30 and if your number is up and you wanna go see ya!!! I know I'm here...

I could have sworn the recruiter at the air inc seminar said you had to become a captain first then the clock starts. Maybe it was just misinfo.

I have heard nothing about that capt. requirement until now...the presentation to interviewees says at compass for thirty months...

I know they have a class July 11, and July 25, and Aug. 8, about 12 in each. an Aug. 8 date puts me at approximately 60-70. Will we start as FO's? Probably.
Rethinking my options....Need some assurance about the flow-through to sacrifice the pay...

I have heard the XJ flow is a pretty slow trickle up to mainline. I wasn't able to tell if the 10% number I of NWA new hires that I heard are to be from XJ or split between XJ and Compass. At that pace it will take a new hire 10-15 years to flow up.

Anyone else get an offer that designates them part of a "distance learning computer based training" class?

Mine starts Aug 17th.

There is one BIG difference between the Compass flow and the Mesaba flow. The maximum number of pilots that can flow back to Mesaba is the number that flowed up from Mesaba. Compass does not have this provision. Follow the example below.

100 flow from Mesaba to NWA, NWA furloughs 500. Only 100 of those 500 may flow back to Mesaba.

Compass will have around 200 Captains and 200 first officers. When NWA furloughed those 500, 100 go to Mesaba the remaining 400 go to Compass..Every pilot at Compass goes on the street...

Not sure, but after 33 months at compass i believe you either decide to go or you are locked in at compass if you don't want to go to NWA. Not sure though.
