Just curious if anyone knew who has the contract for spraying the drug fields down South. I figure it's probably DynCorp or some subsidiary of Halliburton since they seem to get all of the Gov. work lately. With the pilot market being kinda saturated these days in the US, spraying RoundUp down in Columbia might help pass the time till things turn around. Just a thought........

The airplane in the photo is a Caravan. Think for a second what California Microwave builds and you probably can put together the mission of the aircraft better than the reporter did.

The losses were terribly unfortunate. It is hostile territory down there, for anybody, doing anything. Columbia is in a dirty civil war and anyone that has an airplane is "somebody" big. Airplanes attract attention in a place you do not want attention.

Bankaccount:
Go get 2500 hrs turbine ag, get an OV-10 check out (they will if you have 2500 pic me turbine), a CFI, learn Spanish. Send "Dyncorp(a CSC co.)/US Gov contracts/international law enforcment" a resume. They might consider giving you something to do to pass the time till things turn around.
