When asked why you did not fill out certain parts of your application. You know the ones that ask "What do you like most about a job, ect" The proper answer is not "Hey this is only a cargo outfit, and it doesn't really matter anyway". He did not get hired. Or when asked "What your expectations from XYZ company?" The answer "I won't come to work here unless you hire me as a second year Capt." He did not get hired either. Or over lunch Tell about how you cheated your last company on your expense account. These are all true stories.

Well, I could go on for days of dumb things people have said - not only in the interview, but to other employees on the employee shuttle bus to headquarters, on airplanes to the interview, etc.

One guy apparently was recounting his love of a certain airport because the mx guys had the "best stash of porn" at the hangar, and he would sneak over between long sit times to peruse the selections. (he said this to some other pilots, with other people present, on the employee shuttle on his way to the interview)

One girl, who was in an FA interview, when asked to tell us about herself said, "Well, I am married, but we do not have any kids, because I really don't like children." (sound of buzzer) Thanks for playing!!**

**Hint, the tell us about yourself question should not bring up personal info, just tell us how you got to where you are.

At the sign in for interviews, we had a pen for everyone to sign in, and had taped a spoon to it so no one would steal it. We had a guy that not only took the pen with the spoon, but proceeded to chew on it during the whole interview!

I had a client years ago who went through an SWA interview for a MX Tech position. He was asked the question, "What do you do when you get mad?" I asked him to tell me the answer he had given them. His response? "When I get really mad, I just blow up." The rest of the answer he gave, although I cannot remember it, conjured visions in my head of him throwing a wrench in an engine!!

I think I told everyone on another thread about the woman who answered her cell phone 2 times during an interview with Wells Fargo and had a battle with her mother and then proceeded to make an outgoing telephone call. Needless to say, she was "excused" from the interview.

I will ask all of my HR friends on Tuesday the funniest stories they have about people in interviews. I will report back on the stories they tell me on Wednesday.

Stripes

"Do you mean like flaming, or what?" "We're not, but we're willing to learn." "Would they like send us to a special school for that?"

"Convicted? No, never convicted." (was that Stripes?)

I actually went through Army Basic at Ft. Knox and ran the obstacle course where John Candy's character runs off in the woods, and did D&C where the 'That's the Fact, Jack!" scene took place. Recognized a lot of it. Equipment issue, the barracks, and some other stuff. Kinda neat.

"Were do you see yourself 5 years from now"?

-"God willing, laid up with some work related injury"

"Why? Well its not about the flyin....its about the fine a$$ed Ho's you got workin wit you. You see, Flyin means nuttin' to me. I'm in it for tha bizz-itches"

Stifler's brother...American Pie II

Interviewer: "So, why do you want to work for XYZ airlines?"

Stifler's brother: "Im here for the pu##y man, the pu##y!!!"

A friend of mine had an interview with a regional some years ago. He had been sent a letter of recommendation from a friend that worked there. Along with the letter of recommendation was a personal note to the effect of "Hey buddy, gimme a call after the interview and we'll go have some drinks, chase skirt and maybe go to a strip joint"

Wellll, at the interview he mistakenly handed them the personal note thinking it was the LOR. He wasn't offered the job ultimately. I hope it wasn't because of the wrong note he passed because that's the type of stuff that makes overnights fun!

"it's my dream to be the first and last person to fly a 777 under the San Fransico Bay bridge"
