My worst day at CAL is better than my best day at my old regional. In the last 2 months on reserve, I have flown 5 trips. That's how bad the QOL is at a major. Otherwise I am biking/hiking/snorkeling/kayaking/wasting my time on FI. And when I do fly, the crew meals are pretty good. Chicken breast with curry/vegetable meddly/buttered roll/chocolate brownie/side salad is my current favorite but the steak dinner isn't bad either.

The regionals are a legitimate career right up until your flying is lost in a RFP.

Ummm... what regional would that be AWACoff? ;)

I flew at the best one. That still doesn't negate the fact that my QOL is much better over here. Assuming I don't furloughed out on my arse, there should be more long term stability when you are not having RFPs looming over your head at every turn. It's time to take your little lady and get out at the next up turn, Diver! :)

I just hope there'll be jobs left at the majors when this whole mess is done. The big question here, with Jet-A costing what it does, is what kind of flying are the big guys going to let us do on their dime?

Gotta say EMB170Pilot, I've got mixed feelings about the new avatar - very nice, but might shift the T&A balance around here too far over to one side.

Get out of the US regionals while you can! I just started here in the UAE and it is so different then flying in the states, and the pay is amazing.

Wow it didn't take you long to make that switch one day I hear you talking about it then the next your gone. EMB170Pilot I agree that RAH and Skywest will be the top 2 but I think its due to the fact that they just keep growing and seems like there going to be the major's of the regional world catch my drift? Either which way I don't care since those are my top 2 choices for when after I graduate.
