I am fairly certain that my first wife had a main guy with other minor guys on the side. I always thought that it was the pilot that had the extra curricular activities, but not in my case. And she kept the house.

As a happily married guy, I love it when people bring up the old standards "why buy the cow..." or "like eating the same breakfast cereal every day." If your metaphors for sex involve cows and a bowl of corn flakes, you might want to work on your technique! Just havin' fun, folks.

Happy new year,
D

The new movie "Catch Me If You Can" adds fuel to the fire. I see the promo's, on TV, all the time with the main character walking through the terminal with 4 babes hanging on his arms. My wife gets PO'd each time she see the promo. Not ecactly what I want her to see before a trip. Lucky me, I found the right girl to share life with. Remember, it can work both ways. "A woman can run faster with her skirt up than a man can with his pants down".

If you are the one to stray from the nest, then so be it. You have to sleep in the bed you make. In looking at the big picture of life, is it worth the fun of the quickie, only to lose the house and what ever the lawyers can grab?

The divorce statistics are probably skewed just like the national statistics. The reason that they are skewed is for those who divorce then remarry, then divorce, then remarry, then divorce. You are way more likely to be divorced an additional time if you marry again after divorce. I don't know for sure, but I think the true "divorce rate" nationwide (if you throw out the multiple divorcees) is something like 20%. That same drop might be applicable to pilots too.

As far as the comments about buying the cow...they are right on. My wife asks me why my friends are all living with their girlfriends and why they don't get married. My response is simple, why would you commit yourself if you don't have to. Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free. It is women that empower men to play that game. When you live together you get all the priviledges of being married, but none of the responsibilities.

Proverbs chapter 4,5,6,7 . It is still hard to run but run you must. Deut 6. Love the Lord they God with all thy heart. Part of that is loving his commands and loving the wife He gave you. Freight guys arn't exempt, in some ways it is even worse.

Holy cow! Can we please not turn yet another thread into Sunday school?

TurboS7 Sermon Brought To Ya By ?

At least now I know I won't have to attend church this Sunday. I got all I need from TurboS7. Where do I send the offering?

I've been happily married to my first (ond hopefully only) wife for five years...have never strayed...one-and-a-half happy children, etc.

The funny thing is that my mother-in-law boycotted our wedding and refused to meet me for the longest time because "all pilots are giggolos and heartbreakers."

This stereotype has been part of aviation for a hundred years. I'll bet Orville Wright had a girl on each side of the sand dune...

Probably because your Mother-in-Law was hosed by an Army Aviator.. A Mohawk Pilot TDY to her home town I bet.. Got to watch those guys...

At least you guys know where the book of Proverbs can be found. I'll have to give you credit for that.
