I agree with all your info. FedEx is nice but I jumped through their hoops and wasn't good enough. So I'll see "what can Brown do for me."

Join the guard or reserve. Your quest will take half the time (calander and logbook) and you'll get paid better, if you like the desert.

Just telling it like it is......without all the B.S. and lunar landings! :laugh:

Don't develop a $hitty attitude like b757driver.
ie. It didn't work out for me so FedEx sucks and they're so unfair and I just hate them!!!!!! Boo f'ing Hoo :bawling:

Military background will definitely help... a lot, but it is not required. My last trip we had an RFO + a jumpseater in the back and not one of us had a military background (other than enlisted.) Put in your online app (pilot profile) and update it religiously. Become a Check-airman or instructor, anything to stand out from the herd. Network, network, and oh yeah, network. Good luck.

Even the military gives you a better shot than this, my friend.
I moved on when I found out you had to join an "elite" club to even stand a chance. This is NOT my idea of an equal opportunity by a long shot.
All I'm doing is telling it like it is. And sometimes the truth hurts and those that perpetuate the status quo are in complete denial. And who can blame them? They are in the club after all.
Absolutely nothing to do with attitude, just the truth my friend. Good luck trying to convince those that don't have a clue.

The best advice, as previously stated, is to network. Tell everybody that you meet that your goal is to fly for FedEx. You'll be surprised how many people have friends who work here. You'll make connections and perhaps find yourself a sponsor eventually.
