Hey Lear, why don't you ban st. nic, since he apparently can't stop throwing his east vs. west bs in any thread?
 
How about this- I pledge to by buy any Tranny I see in the bar his/her first beer (not the dollar stuff) for the first year after the deal goes through. A good indoc into the SWA way. Once the list is published- it is what it is. Move forward.

I agree but with with the following caveat...if I'm flying with a former AT pilot and he's left seat on my trip, he should buy the rest.
 
Of course!, what choice do the AirTran pilots have? We are outnumbered by the Southwest natives. They seem like a very honorable bunch (unlike the Easties), who will do the right thing if it comes down to arbitration.
 
I'm in....we have two good teams working on the list...the rest of us just drink beer on the layovers.

We're gonna be one group soon...It will be what it will be....I ain't gonna carry any heartburn with it.
 
Carl, the southwest pilots and Swapa control the merger- period. Either DOH or a ratio based on earnings, these are thre fairest ways to integrate. You were thrown a lifeline to pull yourself out of the regional quagmire of an airline you were eternally tied to. Good luck!

Now if we can get all the pilots to sign a waiver not to sue the company, pilots association, share holders, DOT, and theDOL, over the SLI we will be in business.
 
All of this questioning and argument seems moot. Legal and union representatives will almost certainly wind up presenting cases before an arbitrator and a descision will be made.

Seniority rules. The senior folks but the beers. I am very junior so this will work out well for me.
 
The SLI will be jointly and mutually agreed upon by the two Merger Committees, or it will go to binding arbitration. It really is as simple as that.
Where did you get a crazy idea like that? Don't you know the Bond-McCaskill amendment was designed to prevent airlines and unions from having to waste time and money on arbitration hearings?

Since Southwest Airlines has historically done things differently than the rest of the industry, shouldn't the SLI be done Herb Kelleher style? Arm wrestling match between two chain smoking Wild Turkey drinking negotiating committee chairman!
