Its burning in a wooded area ~200 yards north of KDAB/Riddle, behind the Kmart. Its been burning since around 5PM and its burned 20acres I think. Still going now, and threatneing some apartments.

Riddle Seminoles have been dispatched to drop water balloons on the fire.

I saw the flames a little by standing on a wall behind the K-Mart, but didn't have my camera on hand.

It appears unlikely that ERAU will be incinerated at this time, but stay tuned.

You missed the fires back in '99. The governor evacuated all of Flagler county. They had to evacuate half of the apartment complexes on the west side of Daytona also. I had burning embers falling into my trunk as I was throwing my clothes and other crap into my car. Fires never made it to my complex, but they sure got close.

That should be pretty close to the apartment complex I lived in for a few years. It was called Windy Pines I think...or something Pines...dont really remember I was drunk most of the time I lived there.

Yea I lived in the Anatole a block down Dunn in 2001-2002.

Windy Pines was a better deal. I had 2 pools and 2 hot tubs I never used.

I cant think of 20 acres of brush in that area to burn?

Same here cause that should put it pretty close to most of the apartments or houses on Dunn.

News said it burned over 40 acres back there.

I looked at the satellite photos on Google and it works out to be about 22 acres (960,000 sq. feet) directly behind K-Mart. There is a much larger plot of land directly east of that, but from the photos it looks like the fire was right behind K-Mart.
