TSA will have to do what ever it can to clean up the mess of 2005 and in all probability they will have to give up more than they'll receive. I feel for the pilots now that have to deal with the disasterous negotiations in 05 that sealed the fate of TSA. However this whole deal could have been prevented in 2005. The biggest irony about this is not the pay or the contract, because the fact of the matter is Gojet now is union and has an industry standard contract as well as 66 seat pay. The irony is that gojet single list was voted down because it would hurt job security for the pilots. Look at where we are now in 09, that's what the current TSA is begging of Hulas, a single list which they could have had in 05. So sad. Whatever, what's done is done no need to harp on the past. Gojet is a new company with pilots that have no connection at all with 2005 and are union and Alpa/Teamster supporters.

Very well said!

(yes, I repeated this so it would be on the same page as Shifty's post)

My advise is this: Keep being mad about the past if you want to but separate those feelings as you prepare for the future.

Look at the title of this thread "the gojet/TSA history lesson." Now ask yourself, do you want to writing "the gojet/TSA future lesson?" I think you should be writing the "TSA future success plan." You should separate your anger over past insults and injuries from your actions to develop a better future. If, of course, your goal is to develop a better future.

Thanks, I hate it when the response is on a different page even though the quoted comment is right above. I appreciate your attention to detail.

Everyone needs to leave that goat-********************er uncle hulie and burn the ********************hole down.

Isnt the definition of insanity doing the same thing and expecting different results? While I, as a former TSAer, would love for TSA to be a good place to be, we all know that Uncle hulie will keep you all down, as low as a goat turd, and do everything to delay paying you a cent over the contract that was negotiated years ago. If ANYONE thinks that Uncle Hulie will wake up, smell the goat turd, and start paying people what they are worth - well, isnt that insanity?

You cant run an airline without pilots. If the ********************hole is that bad (and from what I hear, nothing has changed there in decades); then just leave. Drop a deuce on Uncle's desk, tell him where to go screw a goat, and just leave.

When I was at TSA (and yes, GJ, in dispatch), I hated it there - the management on both sides (the same person - just with different ID cards), was a miserable prick. I left that cesspool in St Louis, and have never looked back.

When you leave TSA/GJS, you will feel better for doing so...

I left in May 2005, best day of my life.

You gojet pilots need to make this right. It is very clear that you enabled and assisted management. You undermined the TSA negotiations.

WE need to make it right?? Ha!! Your pilotgroup effed up and now you want US to come to the rescue?? Good luck with that. ALPO, YOUR pilot group and Dario "enabled" this...end of story

I'm not sure why the two have to be connected? Why should TSA's fate depend on what happens at GoJet?

If, of course, your goal is to develop a better future.

How can you develop a better future if you have the same a$$holes in management that are absolutely unscrupulous and are unwilling to change their attitude?

Shifty, indeed very well said!

Dornier. I hate to break this to you, but, if you are expecting management to make things better, you are going to be disappointed where ever you go to work. That's not what management is about. It's pretty much the same wherever you go. Yes, you can argue that the company will to better if the employees are happy, but don't expect management to be good to you because they have scruples. They aren't all bad people. It's just that they have different goals from you. Their goal is to squeeze all the money they can out of the operation. In these very competitive times, they have to squeeze every stone they can.

If you want to concentrate on making things better for the pilot group, you should talk to the pilot group. Your management won't do it for you. GoJet pilots won't fix your problems. The NMB isn't there to help you. President Obama isn't going to make it better. Who does that leave? You and your brothers and sisters. You all really need to stop doing two things:

  1. Blaming everyone else for your problems.
  2. Expecting everyone else to fix your problems.
I'm sorry if that sounds harsh but that is reality.

Dude, you make me laugh.... and that @ 4:40 am. Lowering us to sub-standard terms & condidtions isn't gonna make things better. It has to do with the fact about drawing a line and not being exploited. I think I am pretty much in touch with reality.
