Good idea. I'm tired of putting up with their crap!

This should save the airlines a lot of money too. They won't have to spend any more money on catering, and the planes will burn less fuel since they will be much lighter.

Wow. this is an excellant idea!
No passengers. No silly questions. No jacka$$ remarks about the tiny RJ when they get on board. I still think we should be catered, only that the food and drink be for the crew only. The gov't could save tons of $ since there would be a very few amount of folks going through security. There'd be no need for gate agents anymore and you wouln'd have to watch what you say on the PA's.. perfect!

I think this was already posted here when it originally came out, over a year ago (October 2002).

But, they made a mistake in that article! It's the TSA that wants to ban passengers.

Hey no pax = no required FAs, right? No reservation system requiured and you could make up a reasonable schedule - 9 to 5 and management problably would be more agreeable duty hours and pay so no need for unions. Also you wouldn't have to keep hunting for lower altitudes to find that smooth ride (what do pilots care about turbulance) = save a load on fuel. I see the airlines returning to profitability in no time and ordering more planes and hiring more pilots!

Nope sorry...that's not how it works. It's based on the seats the aircraft has.....if it weren't you could have a 757 with only 49 passengers only have one f/a....

But on the same note, if there weren't any px, then it wouldn't be an issue for f/a's to ride on the jumpseat.......

And no need for reinforced cockpit doors, or any doors at all actually!

:D
