Academy Awards tedium

We will watch the Babwa Wawa preshow and Billy Crystal's monologue, and then switch channels.

Yep, being forced to watch...luckily the mini-fridge has been moved so that I don't have to get up (which would be a perfect excuse for me to skip out) to get a beer. She figures thats the only way to keep me in the room.
I'm looking forward to Billy Crystal's monologue too...he always does a great job.

On the topic of brews, it was finally nice enough to fire up the webber and grill some burgers. It felt good to be flipping burgers and drinking beer outside again!

Like they say, the awards show is one hour of good TV spread out over four hours.

Burned Out

Ever since Ben got snubbed for his masterful performance in Pearl Harbor I've given up on watching. Instead I'll read flightinfo and watch Three Stooges tapes.
Speculate both Ben and J'Lo will be overlooked again this year. Nothing to show for all their hard work. What a shame.

man, allison kraus could sing the phone book and make it sound good, and she's easy on the eyes too :D

but what was that thing sting was playing??? i kept waiting for the monkey with the tin cup to start walking around

no brews for me
fresh out, plus have rediculously early show tomorrow...

LOTR made a clean sweep

I'm actually glad, because I've loved the books ever since I first read them when I was about 8, and throughly enjoyed all three of the movies. The sweetest part of the night though, for me at least, was when Charlize Theron won Best Actress, and at the end of her speech, breaks down and thanks her Mum for everything that she had done, and sacrificed, so that Charlize could be where she is today.

Oh yeah, and I'd like to thank everyone in New Zealand! ;)

I think Bill Murray was robbed.

Agreed.

Though I find it funny that Sean Penn claimed that he was being black listed after he spoke out about the war, and yet they saw it fit to give him the Best Actor.

Black listed for for being a Hollywood actor speaking out against the war? Please. More like if you don't speak out against the war or anything conservative you are blacklisted.

I wonder how Mel Gibson and "The Passion of the Christ" will fare in next years awards.

P WHIPPED

Right after you get done watching this, you are going to cuddle.

WHIPPED:p

I think I would rather watch paint dry, eat wet paper, or drink turpentine and piss on a brush fire, than watch that Hollywood orgy of self congratulation.

What is the appeal in these shows? What about it do women find so fascinating to watch?

That would be like a hollywood actor blacklisted for being Democrat.
