Call your ALPA reps and let them know you want a vacation over ride on the next contract.

Sure Jet Blue gets double on Christmas, but ask them how much the company contribution to the 401 is. Other than pre 2002 hires, how much are those stock options worth? We all make our choices.

Merry Christmas to all.

How do I find the volume on my son's new guitar amp?[/QUOTE]

Look for a black tail looking thingy sticking out of a little square thingy on the wall about a foot above the carpet....carefully use one hand to grab said tail and yank quickly...use caution, the instantaneous silence in deafening!!! Especially to Junior!!

Nothing but the best from good ol Dick Anderson. He is probably sitting at home after is what...$500K christmas bonus or something stupid.

Quit your whining. If you working it is either by choice or your junior. Why should we get anything extra? And yes, I am junior in my position and working xmas eve through first week of Jan.

If they paid holiday pay, then the senior guys would be more likely to cover those trips. I think it would really cut down on the unstacking BS and be a win for everyone. Glad you are not on the negotiating team.

Glad you are not either (on the negotiating team). Lets see....try to get a few more shekels (sp) for a few days per year or get improvements for all days of the year. Holiday pay is a joke. We would be better off getting NWAs reserve guarantee (75), equal pay for rotations (res. vs reg.), per diem for our entire rotation when we deviate, the NWA call in honest, etc. I could go on and on. Holiday pay is way down my list. Again, I am junior in my position and work all holidays.

Of course, I would take those things over holiday pay. I never said holiday pay was my top priority. It was a general discussion about holidays..not everything that should be improved in the contract.

I love the trade-offs in an adversarial union/mgmt relationship- who was it- united? That took out extra jumpseats and then made them give up something contractually to get them back? Maybe delta also?

This whole line of thinking sets the wrong tone from mgmt and I'm sad that you guys have to deal with it and especially sad when fellow pilots think mgmt is doing the right thing playing those games.

You don't have to be a genius to know that an extra shekel or two if you're working on Christmas day will be a good investment during the rest of the year-
Two things seem to make a person dumber- an MBA and dealing for years with someone with an MBA- they have a curious ability to throw away common sense and convince themselves of just about anything, no matter how morally dumb.

Good luck y'all

I'm impressed that you offered all the pilots working Christmas and New years the chance to win 6 PS tickets. This is great. You got to be kidding me. At least the FA's get $20.00 extra an hour. This is a strait up insult. Your now pissed off pilot. I'm sure the Picasso dinner was worth it.

Easy answer. FAs are nonunion and mgt can pay them anyway they see fit. Pilots union so you go by what's in yo contract. You're overpaid anyway. Now git back out there in that cold-ass wind and preflt the bird junior! Oh yeh Happy new Year.
