Isn't this a great example of the Stockholm Syndrome. You guys are so grateful that you're not paying to commute after dropping 11 Grand (or whatever it is) for a job in a 1900. It kind of sounds like a bunch of hostages thinking the terrorist is a swell guy because he didn't shoot you in the head.

Actually, the Stockholm Syndrome is feeling sympathy for the terrorist's troubles, not thankful that he didn't shoot you.

not everyone here payed for their training you know. PFT is a fairly new thing for Colgan. Thats why so many people are upset about it. Next time I suggest you know what your talking about before you open your mouth and start making fun of the Colgan employees. (don't mind b!tching about colgan but i'll be d@mned if your gonna do it when you dont know what your talking about!!)

I have a question for members of other express carriers... the memo said that the other carriers were also going to go back to the term pass method... anyone else's company footing the bill???

I would have never beleived it if I didnt see the memo myself...had to read it twice..So thanks Colgans...im wonderin if any of the other express carriers have the same kind of deal or not...and I dont know why we shouldnt be happy that the Colgans did this for us....they saw that this was going to be really hard if not impossible for most of the commuting employees and did something to help us out...Colgan might not be the best company out there but I think they desereve a little bit of recognition for looking out for thier employees on this one..

Lets get this straight,

Colgan charges new hires 18K...Ergo, no training costs

Maintenance, well, let's just say it's not a big cost priority.

Wow, I wonder how they can afford to pay your imputed income taxes for you. That's gotta run at least 22 bucks a year per pilot. Wow. I wonder where they found the money.

i think this was a good move for all who commute, especially the fastfood level, paid FOs.....

my beef with 'em is i played ball all last year with' 'em ...but they kept my vacation pay right here at christmas....

as a family of politicians,, they're just like all the other washington cronies... they say one thing, do anythiing for PR mileage, and then quietly screw you when they can.

Can I take this opportunity to point something out?? Well, regardless of what you say, Im going to do it anyway...

The Colgans just payed over $75,000 for your flight benefits.

That said some of you all need to quit your b!tching and moaning for a half a second and say thank you. I can't believe that some people have the audasity to get upset because they have to pay for their flight benefits then turn around and b!tch and moan about the company when they pay for them.

It's true what they say... The grass is always greener on the other side. No matter where you work, its not going to be perfect. So go fly for another company. Then in a few months, come back and tell us how much you hate that company too.

Seriously!

Hey, congrats to you guys, I was really kinda worried about the commute for some of you guys! I'm glad to hear that it's no longer a concern for ya'...
On the other hand, I'm surprised at how easy it is to win some of you guys over. I mean, forgive me, it's been a few months since I was on the job, but when I was the family did things like:

1. Asked crew members to double up in hotel rooms to cut costs.
2. Pressured aircrews to "defer" write-ups 'till the end of the day (and I ain't talk'n nav lights here).
3. Consistently "discovered" errors in over guarantee paysheets and either completely delayed payment or payed only a portion of the crew members total pay without reason.
4. Turned a few screws on staffers by displacing the payroll schedule to the 5th and 20th of each month. The payroll lady herself told me that it was because they were having trouble making payroll without revenues from mainline coming in on time.
5. Finally, you know how many cabbies or hotel front desk folks I had to liten to because Colgan hadn't paid the bill in some 6 months?

Now, I'm not trying to start trouble here, I just think a wise man would approach this situation with gratitude AND caution. Besides, for Climbhappy to talk some smack, something must seriously be up! How goes the new job Climb?

Take care and be safe, fellas.
Jason

Yeah very generous. big ol' one...you're not anti-pilot are you? What about the model employees like myself? Give ya call here soon.
PS youre hot

PS youre hot

What kind of word is youre??? Did you mean you're??

You may be an Ausi, but if I'm not mistaken, you were born in this country... Get with the English program!!:D

You must be a fairly new Colganite..... yes????

depends on what you call new. I've been here long enough to know it's no bed of roses. I just can't stand all the whining. The colgans did us all a favor by working this out for us. It could be worse. They could have let us suffer through the service charge, but they did something about it.

C'mon now, druglord, if you're going to use a Monty Python skit, at least quote it correctly!!!

>>>There is an eel in my hovercraft<<<

No, no, NO!!! It's...

From the "Hungarian Phrasebook Sketch"....

"My hovercraft is full of eels."

Thank you for your time. :D

Here is a thought

Save the usual griping for another thread. The Colgan's did a mitzvah on this occaision. I for one am gratefull. No guys, I have not been drinking cool-aid, we just have to give credit when it is due.

I bet my left nut that not very many people on this board has a clue what a "mitzvah" is..

Come on now livin in Vegas you should know better than to take this bet. You are soon gonna be half the man you used to be.

I thought it was "i have an eel in my hovercraft" course it's been a while since I've seen it, oh well I guess it's my own little spin on hungarian.
