You heard it here first...
US Airways met with the CCs to explain that by having employees pay for their travel benefits, those funds are taxable. In order for us to keep our non-rev privileges, the Colgans have agreed to pay the taxes for all of their employees, and provide non- rev privileges as a "Benefit". As a result, we are now able to keep all of our non-rev privileges and are being refunded the $5 dollars we all just paid.
Say what you will about this company (i have said it too) but this is a very generous move by the Colgans, and we all owe them a big thank you.
I hope this helps you all have a happy day!!![Big grin :D :D](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)

As we announced previously, US Airways had decided to change the 2004 Travel Pass Program for Affiliate carriers, including Colgan. That Program would have resulted in every employee paying a service charge for each trip flown.
We recognized that this would be a significant change to our benefits and we, along with the other affiliates, worked with US Airways to create a different arrangement.
We are happy to announce the new program for 2004 will provide FREE travel throughout the US Airways and US Airways Express systems for anyone participating in the term pass program. In addition, unlike past years, there will be no annual fee or administrative fee to participate in the term pass program. The program is completely Free.
In order to accomplish this, the company will have to pay an administrative fee to US Airways in excess of $75,000. We felt that this benefit was important to our employees and we have agreed to accept the charge so that the pass program can be free to all employees.
If you have already paid the administrative fee of $5.00, this amount will be refunded to you.
If you have any questions regarding the program, please contact Naomi Dodson
