Lost my wallet last night and am leaving in the morning on a trip, which part of it will be to mexico. i know canada requires the real license, can i go into mexico with the faxed one from the faa. Like it matters, but last time i was there i was asked to ahow my license

I fly to TJ on a regular basis and they have never given me a problem when I had my temporary... they usually just wanted the lic. num. and that was it.. I don't have any experience with the other airports down there but I think you will be fine..

yeah that can happen, im sure they wont take a faxed copy from the FAA, i know its legal but they would come with something up, im almost sure, in order to make you give them $$$$, im from Mexico, ive seen that stuff happening

Just tell the ICCS guy your license is buried in your bags in the back. I'm sure all they'll want is your lic. number anyway.

What I have done for over twenty years of international flying is carry many copies of all my personal paperwork. Pilot license, medical, passport, FCC license and anything else necessary for the trip.

I have never been asked for the actual document, ever, in any country, except for my passport when clearing customs.

Oh, one more document that one must have is your shot records when you travel in and out of coutures that you must have proof of medical inoculation for various diseases.

Thats funny, I have been asked for my pilots license and medical many times here and in other countries.... It's usually only the PIC but occasionally they want it from both..

I beat them to it, I give out the copies before they ask. Many times the handling agent already has the copies and in many countries that works and I don't have to give them anything.

But, you still really need to have the original paperwork with you or on board the aircraft.

Better safe than sorry.
