61.17. Not to be blunt, but a CFI really ought to know that, or at least where to find it.

...or at least where to find it.

Yes...like right on the back of the certificate itself, for example.

Is it in Part 61????????? Yes, of course...but the FAA doesn't even burden you with looking it up...look at line 5 on the back of the certificate, and you'll have your answer.

Some like to say there's no such thing as a stupid question. Often it's not the question that fits the mark, but the extreme lack of effort that went into finding the answer...hit google, use the search feature, open your regulations, do something, and then if you can't find the answer, by all means, ask.

Hey, Flyboy, let me hear your best Steve Martin's "We-e-ll, Ex-cu-u-u-u~u~u-u-u-s-e me!"

haha no shat! I merely said I thought it was 90 days and that I guess I was wrong. I am a CFI and have been for 3 years and have never brought that up with anyone (guess I had more important things to teach?) don't have a temp certif and haven't for awhile and I did a google search just don't have an AIM here at home it's at the office. Thanks though for all the feedback

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on that one. To me, the limitations of your clients' certificates seem like a really important thing to go over.

I haven't had a printed FAR/AIM in a while. Here's where I look things up:

Federal Regulations, Title 14
AIM

Hope that helps.
