Hi all,
I know this has been visited numerous times in many threads, but I was looking at pictures of Telex 750's on ebay and only saw one ...but it only had one mic jack?...do they come with two? like a david clark? Somebody help me out:-)

Yeah I've seen those things on eBay as well - don't know what's up with it unless it's just a different 'single plug' version you can get. My 750's have 2 plugs just like the DC's and every other headset in the free world.

One mic jack? Thats all you need brotha. The other jack is for the audio. But if it was a single jack yes they do have a 2 jack 750. I bought one on ebay for 90 bucks and it had 2 jacks. Just keep looking. Alot better paying 90 instead of 250.00 bucks for it.

It was probably that DIN plug that some foreign airplanes come with. I know the Airbus's at NW have this style of plug where all the connections are made through one big complex plug.

thanks for the replies guys, i'm still a little worried that it will be too loud in a CRJ-200. But....screw those head clamps. The David Clarks were killing me. Hopefully i'll be able to get a pair tonight and then sell my david clark 13.4's with ENC. You just don't need ALL that in this plane.

Wear ear plugs with the 750s. Works great, lasts long time.

You buy you buy! Its got Sony guts!

If you want the quiet of a dave clark and the light weight of the 750, add the softseal ear cups from Oregon Aero to them. about $50 and will do wonders to cut out the $#@&ing avionics cooling fan noise in the CRJ.

Here is a link: http://www.oregonaero.com/p6465D_2001.html

scroll down to telex 750 and across to softseal ear cushon. I wore them for years in the crj and thought they were every bit as good as the active noise cancelling types without the batteries.

I've come full circle with headsets in the CRJ. I started off with the David Clamps and though I was too cool now that I fly a jet to have the big goofy green ear muffs... so I bought the Telex 750s- hated them- wearing ear plugs, for me, was worse than wearing the DCs. The wind noise, cooling fans, and that stinking pack air coming out from the side began to annoy me. I couldn't get the radio and intercom volume loud enough. so I tried the Telex 5X5.. my poor brain couldn't handle everything coming through one ear and the single ear plug got real annoying after about 4 hours of flying... then I tried the Telex ANR 500. Good headset- the little volume module 12" from the headset was a bit awkward, but it worked well... but I was awed by the light weight Sennheiser HMEC-45 so I sold the 500s and bought them... I wore those for about a year... now the cockpit noise is beginning to get on my nerves again!

So here I am- back to the green mickey mouse ears. Hey, at least it's quiet and my hearing isn't numbed by the end of the day!!

I spent 2 years behind a radial, brings a whole new meaning to the term "say again" I finally started wearing a helment and earplugs just to keep my sanity.

If anyone wants to buy a telex 750 send me a PM. I have a pair that was used maybe 3 times. I don't know what the going rate is, but make me an offer.

I wear the 500 in the CRJ. You don't need the ANR but it is nice to use after a long day, or when the radio gets very busy.

Try the HMEC25, I know the battery thing again, but their quite!! Use 2AA batts, almost last the whole month, and nice long cord. If your a ALPA member you can get the special price, about 490.00.

I just got hired to fly a Saab and I've been looking at the Panter 2001 molded headphone system. Has anyone flown with these or similar setup? I'm kinda curious if the passive noise reduction is as stated? Also, how does it sound over the radio and over the intercom???

Has anyone used the Telex 850 in the CRJ??? I was just looking at them - 4oz., twice the price, ANR to cut down down the "wind and other noise in jet cockpits", and no batteries required - apparently it gets power from the intercom circuit.

I don't have first hand knowlege but spoke with a Captain who was ordering them after flying with a FO that used them in the CRJ200. I asked and he confirmed that you didn't have to have the mike on for the noise reduction to work. If anyone else can confirm, i'd buy a pair myself.
