This kids has some balls....

Law enforcement authorities in Washington state say a teenager blamed for an 18-month crime spree allegedly extended his burglaries to the San Juan islands by using the Internet and flight manuals to learn how to fly stolen planes, The Seattle Times reports.

San Juan County Sheriff Bill Cumming says Colton Harrris-Moore, 18, from Camano Island, north of Seattle, has allegedly been breaking into homes and stealing boats and planes since leaving a juvenile security facility in 2008, the Times reports.

"He's more than a menace," Cumming says. "He's an incredible liability to people's safety."

Authorities say Harris-Moore apparently made at least two flights on small planes, both ending in "hard landings," indicating he has not had formal flight training.

Island County sheriff's Detective Ed Wallace said the teen may have learned the basics of flying by reading flight-training manuals and searching the Internet, the newspaper says.

Wallace said that in several of the home burglaries on South Camano Island, investigators found that computers were used to search for information about flying. Cumming said a credit card stolen in one recent burglary was used to purchase flight manuals.

Harris-Moore's mother, Pam Koehler, calls the new allegations against her son "crap," the Times reports.
