I have a trip coming up: frg to mia. I have a choice between a tb20, tb21(turbo) or a ce210

The trip is about 1029nm. Has anyone flown either one of these a/c a long distance? Which one would you take. I know the turbo sounds like the best way because of the increased performance, but I just wanted to get some opinions.

thx

Depends if your paying for it or not.

Rental wet? (owner pays gas)--Take the fastest one!

You are buying the gas? -- Take the one that burns the least over the length of the trip.

Big or small load?-- Well you get the idea big plane big load etc...

Hot chick waiting for you at destination? Find a jet to borrow!

Its a freebie and you need total time? Find a nice C-150 and rack up the hours!!:D

210 isn't bad, six pax, ok speed, a tad thirsty.

Turbo? Useless to you unless it is pressurized or O2 equipped, Turbos are good for leaping cumulus granite out west, No real advantage in low country since T-Storms go much higher than your lungs can.

Don't know enough about the TB-20 to comment much, about twice around the pattern in one is all.

I second this 100%

I'm not paying. My student does real estate and he wants to do this trip often to buy land in Fla.
The rental is wet.
No load just the two of us.
The tb21 has O2.

We did the trip 1 1/2 weeks ago in a pa34, he said it took too long

What does the ce210 true out at around 060feet?

well, im not sure what those socatas are capable of speed wise but i have about 500hours in the C210. It was normaly aspirated, non tub and i got 160TAS pretty much every time i flew it. Not bad. Pretty slow for a trip of that length but if you want to do it single then id say the C210 has to be one of the best planes for the trip. I personally don't think the turbo is gonna give you much more speed and I think you were coming out of NY, don't know for sure, if so you wont have much terrain to contend with along your route and would say a non turbo 210 would suite your needs just fine.
