Anybody seen this website. It sounds like a good idea, but I think the poor guy behind is going to have his pipe dream broken. Unless they can find a way to fly those very light jets for just a little more than an LCC ticket, its not gonna work. Sure there is a market for these jets, but in my opinion not for this purpose. If I thought it would was gonna work I'd be all over it. However, until fuel cost come down, and most importantly lawyers stop running the country, it's not gonna work.
Note on the website he provides a insurance quote. It fails to mention that that is for an owner operator, not a air taxi service. I suspect it would be considerably higher. No matter how efficient the VLJ's are, they can't even get close to an RJ on a CASM basis.

I dunno, an RJ can't get anywhere close to a 737 on a CASM basis but it has not stopped them.

A 550 Citation can be operated for around $1000 an hour(DOC), the VLJ's in theory should come in a good bit lower than that.

All he has to do is get the price close to airline fares and he could pick up the folks that cannot afford full size bizjets, but would like to move around in a more private setting. Combine it with the fact that the VLJ's can get into all the little local airports that the RJ's and even some of the Turboprop airlines cannot and he may be on to something.

Having said all that, I think it is a pipe dream.........but those crazy Wright boys were never supposed to fly either!!! :)
