Any of you King Air operators done any research on TAWS/EGPWS and DRVSM certification for the King Air B200? We operate a B200 (Part 91) and I need to start getting some facts and figures together on doing these on our aircraft. What companies offer these modifications; who to contact; pros and cons of one manaufacturer vs. another; approx costs, and "downtime"; etc. Anybody who has already been down this road, or is going down it now, I'd like to hear from you.

any thing i have done to the beeches i send to them. Excellent company. Dont have the EGPWS but would like it. Im sure down time might be somewhere in the week period but I don't know. That is speculation.

Id give them a call

We are doing the TAWS on our straight 200 next month ... Epps in Atlanta is doing the work as part of an avionics package upgrade on the airplane. DRVSM on our bird isn't worth the money as we never really operate higher than 270 so I can't help you there.

However, I'll second the Elliott vote ... they have an excellent reputation. Our scheduled maintenance is done by Stevens Aviation ... they have locations all over the country (GYH, DAY, and BJC plus a handful of others) and we've always been pleased with their work.

Sorry I can't be more helpful. Good luck!

We have done quite a bit of research on the TAWS for our B200. Elliott definately seams to have the best info, customer service, history, and facilities to do it. We are also trying to convince to Boss to take advantage of the down time, spend a little more and do some performance and interior upgrades. This hopefully will put our KA in a better resale position should that happen in the next couple of years. DRVSM is not a consideration. I can post some specifics on the TAWS we are looking at later. We are hoping to intall it by 3rd quarter this year.

B1900 Mod

I'm not sure where we had the work done... (I can find out if you're interested)

But we just installed an avionics package in one of our B1900C cargo birds.

Dual Garmin GNS 530's
King KMD 850 MFD with
King KGB 560 TAWS/EGPWS and WX.

Great for the SouthWestern/Eastern Alaska Ranges!

I just fly it.... so I don' t have the "$$$ or Installer info"..... but I can do some research if you give me questions to ask.

PM me if you want pics of the cockpit
