Well , you know what they say about chicks with tattoos........

..........Wham, bam , thank you, ma'am.

Not to get too far off the subject, but while we are discussing professionalism, I was standing in line at Starbucks @ SEA-TAC terminal behind an Air Wisconsin guy a couple of mornings ago, this guy was a capt, in uniform, a blue baseball cap on, shirt unbuttoned, top two with no tie! I was in street clothes non-reving, couldn't believe it!! He just stood there like he owned the place!! Is that the norm over there at AW??

From posts here, I've always had a more professional image of them!! After he walked away from the counter, the guy behind me asked what kind of airplane that guy flew, then said I hope he flies better than he dresses!!

What does Marcelous Wallace look like??
What?

Minh :D

(Glad you can get on with tattoos, cuz I'm wrapped up wid 'em.)

Hey Flying for food? Was it a big fat red-headed guy? If so, we don't think much of him here either. If he was working a flight, it wasn't Air Wisconsin, we don't go there.

As far as the norm goes, it's going down hill FAST. We're quickly turning into Mesa. No hats, black tennis shoes, long sleeve uniform shirts rolled up to the elbow, black stocking caps on winter walk arounds, talking on the CELL PHONE ON PREFLIGHT INSPECTIONS!!!
(I **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** you not.)

what else have I seen.... I don't know. I aught to write 'em down as I seen them.

It's funny then how we bitch about how the company treats us and how the profession has taken a turn downhill, and then can't be bothered to follow the FOM at the airline where we wanted to work in the first place.

And despite what others may say, how you look DOES reflect on how serious you take your job.

Oh my God, NO!

>>>talking on the CELL PHONE ON PREFLIGHT INSPECTIONS!!!<<<

*shrieking* WHAAT!? WHAAAAAAAAT??!!??

(the above in the style of the scene in "A Christmas Story" when the friend's mother, on the other end of the phone conversation, hears her son taught the Ralphie the 'F-word')

Hey Beechnut,

That sounds like this guy, he was deadheading I believe! Does he think he'll get an interview anywhere else looking like that? If it's one thing I've learned, is that those old guys at the majors have long memories!!

"DOES HE LOOK LIKE A BI@TCH???"

If you show up for your CFI initial with a Superman Tattoo on your shoulder/bicep with the words "Man of Steel" clearly and intentionally v i s i b l e without giving a flying fukc then you **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** better know your stuff on that ride.:D :D Who ever said all had to conform to all the norms that are currently in place and/or expected.

I guess it could be worse, if you show up in DFW without a bible and run into Super80 then you will be in one world of hurt. I don't even think you are allowed to get to "his" AA concourse without a bible that has been blessed.:D

I have seen many airline guys with tattoos, nothing new here at all. It has been this way for a long time and will continue to be that way. As for the females? I cannot say I have, they are in such a minority that even "female spotting" on the flight deck doesn't happen too often let alone being able to see them with a tattoo. Kinda like spotting a rare bird over NYC while sipping a martini.
