So how often have you guys seen guys as tall as me (6'5") flying for regionals. I know I will not have any problems fitting into the different regional aircraft out there, except for maybe the bro or the 1900. I just wanted to see how many regional guys out there are my height. I know I can't be the only stud out there......he he.

Thanks all,

Ryan

I'm 6'5 250 pounds. I had no trouble instructing in a Cessna 152 and have NO trouble fitting in a Beech 1900. There are some big boys on the Beech a real man's airplane rather than those Pu$$y A$$ RJs.

I'm 6'4. Other than hitting my head walking into the plane about once a week I have no problem in the CRJ

My instructor was a hoss... didn't have any trouble getting into a 150. Students were the the only one that had problems with working the controlls with their knees and elbows all touching, breathing in that sick BO, and not being able to look out the right window.

Im 6'3 and have a little trouble in the bro. Seat all the way back, pedals all the way forward, and i still cant get my legs straight. But you make due. There is one CA that works for PDT that had to be at least 6'7".

Ok, so riddle me this. If I were to get hired by a multiple aircraft carrier such as Skywest, would they consider my height when assigning aircraft? Since they know that I may have a problem in the bro, would they give the rj, considering they are hiring for both at the time?

The day I stopped wishing I was taller was the day I took my first lesson in a 152. I feel for you guys over 6 feet.

Doesn't the Brasilia have the same cockpit as the ERJ? Or do the seats go further back? Or are you all just RJ snobs and assume that because the 120 has propellers its cockpit must be tiny and antiquated?

I think the cockpit width is the same, but they made more lengthwise room in the ERJ......The brasilia cockpit is kinda cramped. Another 6 inches of seat travel would be awesome......other than that, it's comfortable enough........whiskey at the end of a long day takes care of the rest....:pimp:

I have to take my shoes off when in the Merlin, or else the yoke wont clear over my knees. I'm 6' 7 290lbs.
I tried flying with a guy in a CJ3....couldn't pull the yoke over my knees. But I have no problems in a 172, 182 or seminole

SkyWest doesn't care how tall you are for aircraft assignment. I'm 6'5" and flew the Brasilia for three years and almost 3000 hours. The Brasilia wasn't too bad except for the airplanes with the old manual seats. The seats were huge and didn't go back nearly as far or as low. The RJ is better but still not great, any regional airplane is going to be tight unless you are in a DH8, E170, or ATR.

I think the ERJ has a lot smaller center console than the Brasilia.

In the 1900, you can stretch your legs out between the pedals. I second the comment earlier that CJ's as a general rule are a tight fit. It all comes down to individual cockpit design, not the size of the airplane.

Being 6'7" I can tell you that flying the E170 was a pain in the butt literally. The seat design on the 170 is so bad I had to buy a seat cushion because the back pain was paralyzing after the one too many 4 hour blocks between IAH and PHL. I have spent time in the SF340 and E145/135 and nothing is as bad as the E170.

I'm 6'3"/235lbs flying the Brazildo. For me the key with the electric seats is to put the pedals full forward, seat all the way down and forward about two notches from the rear. Then you can put some recline in and then raise the seat a just little bit. Nice! I suffer in the mechanical seats:( To all you guys who are going to the Bro: Put the FVCKING seat DOWN and park it to the side!!! I'm going to wipe my big azz with one of you little guys one of these days when I find the pedals full forward and the seat all the way up :)

I'm 6'6 270-ish, and it wasnt till the end of IOE till i figured out how to get in to the 1900 without catching the condition levers with a pant leg or whackin my head on the overhead switches, but its not too bad.
the worst part is how the pax laugh when i shoe-horn my azz in there!
i totally agree with flysacto tho---the little guys just dont know how it is!!!

6'4 very thin, but have no trouble getting in and out of the mighty dash. There is plenty of leg room. With the seat all the way back and the pedals all the way forward I can almost...not quit though...stretch my legs out fully.

then theres dudes like me who are 5'8", who have to sit on a phone book to line up the little CAT 2 balls in the ERJ....jk....or am i??????????

AMEN! Ditto for the 145. It is NOT easier to get in or out of the seat when it is up. Put it down, over and back. And stop tightening the sun visors down when they are angled up into the ceiling.

Thanks for all the responses guys. I guess I don't need to worry about being the only lurch out there.

All this from the same crowd that thinks women shouldn't fly pregnant?
