And what about the fact that NWA doesn't has any west coast base. If we merge, even though i would expect no DAL guys would get bumped out of their own base, but SLC/LAX would become stagnant overnight when most of the NWA's west coaster can bid to these bases.

They do have a very small SEA base that is very senior on the A330. The junior FO was a '96 hire. I guess ANC is also on the West Coast too. I would expect a lot of Northwest guys in MSP and DTW to bid LA or SLC, thanks to those bases being closer to AZ and NV, where a lot of them probably live. Also ATL could be popular for the NWA guys thawing out in FLA. There could be a lot of favorable things for these guys, but hey, they want their cake and to eat it too, regardless of what the other team does or doesn't get. That doesn't sound good, and it would be uncomfortable, especially with DTWA320 or EXAF as my FO. Hey, I would buy the third and fifth beers....

Bye Bye--General Lee

Thanks smarty pants. Well, Saudia just put 28 up for sale, China Northern and China Southern too, along with JAS (Japan Air System), and even Iberia has a few. All of those airlines are getting new Airbus planes, and the MD90s are very rarely used anywhere else. So, thanks to your checking, we will probably try to "gobble up" less than 100, but more than 1. Happy now?

Bye Bye--General Lee

I am happy that you have the facts now, not some scuttlebutt from a mechanic.

Not according to your pilots on other threads. You, or he, either one know more than me, but what you wrote is disputed by your other pilots.

that doesnt make sense. You quoted something totally unrelated to what i posted. I said 757 i mentioned nothing of the other planes.

Yeah, umm....that's not gonna happen big guy. Any SLI that would make THAT a possibility would definitely never see the light of day. (And that's DTW320 to you....Mr. Generally)

You got that right. Even if the SLI made that a possibility, Generally Lee would definitely be on my "no fly" list and there's only one other guy that's ever made that list! Now he'll probably spin that to make it sound like it would be an elite group! Surely a good thing and an honor for any self-respecting DAL pilot.

There are a lot of 90's for sale, What DAL like is no one operator owns them. They are scattered all over the world. It allows them to get them for cheaper. It will take longer to get them, but they will be at a better price.
Fact is that most DAL guys that are under 35 will retire at or about the same seniority as they are projected at now. No matter how the SLI is done. There are not many spring chickens at NWA. Most that were hired in the late 90's and early 2000's were over 30 and had close to 10K of flight time. I know that there are some, but the fact is that there are more younger guys in the bottom 70% at DAL than all of NWA.
From what I have seen, if we merger there will be more hiring. Not stagnation. Now who really knows, but there are some big plans on the table and financial backing for them. Even if the economy goes in the toilet, I think that you will continue to see deliveries made.
