Any 737 or 757 pilots out there...It seems like everytime I fly(as a pax), more so when the plane is full, that on take off roll (can I use that term?) it seems like the plane uses approx 1/2 the runway for accerating, then the rest of the roll is about the same speed with just a slight increase in speed. Is this the case? Or is the plane in a constant acceleration?
 
The increase in the rate of acceleration levels off above a certain speed but you are constantly accelerating prior to rotation. It always seems to me that the speed hangs up arond 100 kts. before resuming the increase.

There are quite a few guys here with engineering experience who can experience who can explain it a whole lot better than I can.TC
 
No engineering degree here, but I'll take a stab...

Assuming constant thrust and steadily increasing wind resistance, delta vee tapers off linearly as airspeed increases.
