Supreme N--,
Can imagine stress level in major land, but I think within the next
couple of months we may be surprised with an air travel recovery.
And that would mean major airlines would be at the heart of the recovery. Contrary to some of the press noise, don't think there is that much excess capacity today. And businesses here and worldwide are, as we all know, in sort of a self imposed paralysis regarding spending and general business activity. Unless the sky starts falling, at some point activity will resume-and that means the 'road warriors' (low, mid level business people) WILL be sent out there to compete and close deals like they always have.
And the summer and holiday vacationers will finally take those flights that have been postponed for 2 or 3 years.
As for the competition, Jet Blue and Southwest, as fine as they are, would be able to offer only a tiny fraction of the new seats required once the recovery sets in.
And I'm not some blind optimist. Smart, big money types are building new skysrapers(more office capacity) in our cities(Seattle has at least 2 going up). Houston's(Continental) airfield is a giant
construction site-new runways and terminals.
Anyway, I wouldn't give up that seniority number if at all possible.
